An
Important Note on Low Carbon Threaded Rod and Bar Quality
· Lancaster Threaded Products, Inc. (LTP) uses prime, cold-drawn 1018 steel in its low carbon rod and bar products (plain, zinc-plated, hot-dipped galvanized, rounds, anchor rods) for the consistency customers expect. LTP will use some 1008 steel in selected products. Carbon content directly affects tensile strength and thread quality.
· Other suppliers may use lower carbon steel (1005 through 1018 grades). They may also use secondary, downgraded, hot rolled, or mesh quality steel. None of these are as strong as prime cold-rolled 1018 steel. You may not receive consistent, strong products from other suppliers.
· LTP uses over 99% domestic steel.
· LTP processes and finishes these products domestically.
When comparing these products to another supplier’s, simply ask if they can guarantee domestic steel (prime cold-drawn 1018), processing and finishing.
